Lubbock Master Gardener Association (LMGA) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) educational organization. LMGA is closely affiliated with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, the Lubbock County AgriLife Extension Office, and the Texas Master Gardener Association.
Our Mission
Our mission is to increase gardening knowledge for residents of Lubbock County; to support the Lubbock County Office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services in providing home gardeners with information on good gardening practices; and to develop and enhance community programs related to horticulture.
What We Do
We support and educate new and veteran gardeners with science-based best practices, and help them navigate the unique gardening opportunities on the Llano Estacado. We present educational programs, provide public information, research and respond to questions from local gardeners, and assist individuals and community groups with gardening projects and issues.
What We Believe
Lubbock Master Gardeners believe in the use of research-proven techniques to provide maximum garden and landscape enjoyment while preserving and protecting the environment. We believe in water conservation, reduction of fertilizer and pesticide use, landscaping for energy conservation, and reduction of landscape wastes entering landfills. We believe in creating beautiful, easy-care landscapes. And we believe in sharing these understandings with others.
